Last week, we shared the third level of the Dwarven Mine from our adventure Depths of the Dwarven Mine.

This week we near the bottom of the mine and finally enter the actual mine shafts themselves.

The two separate mine shafts reach the extent of their depths to where the ore veins are richest. Several tunnels extend out from the mine cart track to mineral seams in the rock that the dwarves were extracting. The mine tunnels on the norther portion of the map have a large, natural tunnel that extends down to Area 5A (next week!). The southern portion of the map shows the miners excavation intersecting with a small network of tunnels and warrens dug out by rust monsters, the cause of the missing mine cart rails. Their tunnels also lead into Area 5A, but are very small, so creatures larger than a rust monster will have to squeeze, if they can crawl in at all.
